This is the day we accidentally ended up in Surfside Beach, Texas. When searching for places to stay last minute in Galveston, we came across this place. It turned out to be a great place to stay. It wasn't too busy, even though it was the 4th of July weekend. We had never heard of this place, but I'm glad that we came across it. We will definitely go back to visit one day. We stayed at Surfside Beach RV Park. There is a restaurant on site, along with easy beach access. It was the only place available on short notice that had beach access.

There were a few things that we didn't like about the RV park, but overall we enjoyed staying here. Among the things that we didn't like include, there were no showers/restrooms and when we got water running through our pipes, it was not filtered too well, meaning the water was salty. This meant that we had to buy water for us and the dogs.

Unlike Gulf Shores, Alabama, this beach allows pets and fire pits. When we visited Gulf Shores, we had to drive all the way to Pensacola, FL to a tiny city park that had access for digs to enter the water. It was pretty much like we were playing in someone's backyard.

I know that Gulf beaches may not be superior, but it is one of my favorite past times. I remember going to Galveston as a child and falling in love with the beach. I knew as a child that I wanted to travel the country and now I'm doing--although it's only in the summer, but it's worth the wait every year.
